A theme I was thinking about was how aware the Jewish people were to the events happening around them. Maybe they were hiding the dangers of what was happening in their letters to their loved ones, or maybe they were truly unaware of the dangers to come. I already have an example of this through one of the Holocaust letters I have read. This is where a family was split up, the father and daughter in Siberia, while the mother, son, and the other daughter were in Warsaw. In the letter, things seemed somewhat normal, such as the son searching for a job as he had been spending time studying technology. The son mentioned at the end that Warsaw had been split up and there was now to be a Jewish Quarter. This seems to mark the beginning of the Warsaw Ghetto. So how aware were the Jewish people?
